| Mackenzie Finch is an active enthusiastic individual that attends Merritt Secondary school in the tenth grade. She participates in various forms of dance (Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Contempary and Jazz) as well as plays volleyball, and rugby. Mackenzie also participates in student council, leadership activities, and volunteers teaching dance. This year she was awarded with the top Timekeeper for the 2011/2012 hockey session. At her Regional Science Fair she was awarded with the B.C Innovation Council Student/Teacher Recognition Award and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C. Award which has enabled her to attend her fourth Canada Wide Science Fair. Mackenzie hopes to pursue a career in Marine Mammal Biology with a Major in Environmental Sciences. Mackenzie was invited to a Women in Science Conference at UBC in October which has peaked her curiosity about wastewater systems and the environmental inpacts which set her on her path to her current science fair project. |

Drinking Water: An Environmental Filtration System

At the end of each day the polluted water systems were assessed for ten water quality tests and the experimental results did not support the hypothesis for quality drinking water. |
