Biographie
My name is Lauren Calvert and I am a grade 12 student at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School in St.Catharines Ontario. Since September, I was a part of the Brock University Mentorship Program, where I was paired with a university professor who specializes in research on Mars. He supervised me during my entire research process. Throughout my high school career, I have been involved in many things such as being an active member on both the Swim team and the Curling team, volunteering as a peer tutor, and being a school Prefect. Now that my project is finished, I plan to follow the research that NASA is currently conducting on Mars, especially with the Mars rover because it is closely related to my project. Although my project is an earth sciences project, next year I will be attending university to study child health and development, in hopes of becoming a Child Life Specialist or a Pediatric Nurse. Studying the earth is one of my hobbies, but it is not a profession that I would want to pursue. Attending the Canada Wide Science Fair this year is a great opportunity, and I am excited to be a part of it.

Interior Layer Deposits in Capri Chasma on Mars

Sommaire:This research project studies Interior Layer Deposits (ILDs) in Capri Chasma, located in Valles Marineris, a system of canyons on Mars. Three figures were examined with the use of computer software. The results show that the layer thickness varies with each figure. The data also indicates that there is a defined difference between each ILD, and the outcrops have formed through many different processes.
