Biography
My name is Deklen Crocker. I was born on July 7th, 1999 and I am thirteen years old. I go to East Three Secondary School in Inuvik and I am in the eighth grade. This is my very first time having a chance to compete at the Canada-Wide Science Fair. I really enjoy working with batteries and other power sources when I get the chance. I am a good singer.I enjoy playing many sports such as hockey, curling, floor hockey, and soccer; and in the summer, skateboarding. I am also a cadet, holding the rank of Corporal. Last but not least I have been to the U18 Optimist International Curling Championships in 2012. You’ll see that I am short for my age but I don’t let that get in my way. I am also very energetic and outgoing.

Strength Of An Electromagnet
Challenge:Energy
Category:Junior
Region:Beaufort-Delta
City:Inuvik, NT
School:Samuel Hearne Secondary School
Abstract:This experiment determines if the length of the electromagnet core, and the number of times the wire is wrapped around it will affect the strength of an electromagnet. I wrapped the core with the wire 25, 50, 75, and 100 times and repeated the process. The shorter the bolt and the more wraps the wire did around the core the stronger the electromagnet.
