Biographie
My name is Emma Soetaert and I am in grade 7. I go to school at The Fernie Academy. I have 2 cats named Clyde and Eddie, and 2 sisters named Holly and Leah. My favorite things to do are to play volleyball, sing, make jewelry, and play with my cats. In winter, I like to cross country ski and go sledding with my friends and family. I also like to look at things under my microscope and do my own science experiments at home. The way I came up with my experiment was when my friends and I were having a debate about if Sparwood has the cleanest water or not. Then I thought why not test it? So that's how I came up with testing our local water sites for bacteria. I am super excited to go to Fredericton!

Sommaire:How clean are our local water sites? I have tested nine local water sites in the Elk Valley for bacteria/coliforms and e.coli. My hypothesis is that if I tested a man-made lake and a duckpond for bacteria, they would have higher levels of bacteria than any of the other water sources I tested. My hypothesis was 50% correct.
