Biographie
My name is Brandon Greenall and I plan on beginning to obtain my Bachelor's of Health Science this fall at the University of Northern British Columbia. In my spare time, I maintain a leading role in my school's student leadership program, as well acting as co-founder of a community charity organization known as the Hazelton Community Charity Program, where me and my friends raise money for local non-profit organizations. I am also an acting member on the fundraising board for the Upper Skeena Sponsorship Group, a large organization of community members dedicating to fundraising for refugee families in Syria. My project was inspired by my recent diagnoses of Type-One Diabetes and the struggle I have had obtaining help from my local healthcare provider as well as managing the disease on a social and physical level. It was an absolute eyeopening experience to meet so many people who share the same issues I have faced, and the project for me was that of pure passion. I have to use my degree in Health Science to pursue a future career in Diabetic Education, where I can offer empathy and a unique perspective to those newly diagnosed.

The Management of Diabetes in Northwest British Columbia

Sommaire:As a recently diagnosed Type-One diabetic who struggled for nearly two years to get my condition under control, I began to wonder how fellow diabetics in Northwestern British Columbia fared in managing the disease themselves. I distributed a mass survey across the area, gathering data about the social and physical issues they faced, as well as gauging interest for an online based resource.
