Biographie
My name is Edwin Aggark and I am from Chesterfield Inlet, Nunavut. I am currently in my final grade 12 year at Victor Sammurtok School and I enjoy hunting, family outings, as well as fishing and playing hockey. My science teacher, my partner, and I came up with the idea of testing different qamutik runners. We wanted to come up with a project that was challenging and related to our Inuit culture. Both my partner and I regularly use qamutiks during the winter and spring for hunting and going out on the land. For future investigations, we would like to create larger models of qamutiks. For other students thinking about doing a science fair project, I recommend that they find a project that they are both interested in and connected to in some way. I think this will only help motivate students more in accomplishing their science fair project!

Sommaire:Our project focuses on qamutiks, a traditional tool of the Inuit culture that is similar to a sled. We wanted to determine which type of runner material requires the least amount of force to move both a loaded and unloaded qamutik.
