Biography
My name is Ethan Motley. I am a grade 9 student in rural Alberta. I am interested in science and history. I enjoy dirt biking in the summer and playing hockey in the winter. I am also a Venturer in the Scouts Canada program. The inspiration for my project came from not wanting to be sick. My experiment was to test what type of hand cleaner can eliminate the most germs. I feel that if I am using the best soap or sanitizer, I won't get sick or spread illness as easily. If I were to further my investigation of this topic, I would test the best way to clean hard surfaces, such as countertops, doorknobs, and tables, as germs may be spread from person to person through contact with these surfaces. If you are planning to enter a science fair, my advice would be to work hard and have fun.

Abstract:My project entitled Germ Killer is relevant to everyone, everywhere. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the single most important thing we can do to keep from getting sick and spreading illness to others, is to wash our hands. But with so many hand cleaners available, which is the best one? Find out the answer to this question for yourself.
