| I am a grade 8 student at Power Glen school in St. Catharines, Ontario. I really enjoy math and science, and have participated in math competitions at the regional and provincial levels. This will be my first year competing in science fairs. I also really enjoy playing instruments, singing, and drawing. My project idea stems from my grandmother who lives in a nursing home. Many of the residents in her home have Alzheimer's and other memory retention issues. I wanted to see if there was a way to help them remember things using colour. I plan to continue my investigation by visiting and testing nursing home residents in the future. For anyone who thinks they may not be strong in science, my advice would be find something you are interested in and experiment with it. Find a mentor as well, they help to lead you in the right direction and keep you motivated. Don't give up if you are new to this, because this is my first year ever competing in science fair. You never know what you can achieve if you work hard. |
