Biography
I am Jared Schenkels, a grade 10 student at South Colchester Academy in Brookfield, Nova Scotia. I am a First Responder who volunteers as firefighter at his local fire department and ski hill. When I'm not at the ski hill or fire hall, I enjoy playing sports such as volleyball, soccer, biking. I work as the Director of our own live school television station, SCA TV, and am head of sound and lighting engineering for special events including musicals, concerts, and presentations. Inspiration for my project came from during my toboggan certification when I experienced a rough ride down the hill and began looking for a way to improve the transportation of injured guests down the ski hill. I would tell a prospective student thinking of doing a project to go for it! It is wonderful experience and one I would definitely do again!
