| My name is Emily O'Reilly. I am 16 years old and in grade 11. This will be my fourth time attending the CWSF. At the Central Interior Science Exhibition my project received a gold medal, The Darrel W. Dimler Judges Choice Award, UNBC Mathematics and Statistics Award, Genome BC Scholarship Nomination Award, Best in Category Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical Sciences, BCIC Young Innovator Scholarship and Best in Exhibition. At school I am on the Principals list and actively participate in Senior Leadership, President of Rotary Interact, and was the top debater at the Northern Academic Debate Championship. In addition I was also a recipient of The Leading Spirits Award by Enbridge and received the Prince George Youth of the Year Honourable Mention Award. I play the violin in the senior school band and in the music ministry at my church. In addition, I play classical piano - grade 8 repertoire, hold an orange belt in judo, enjoy cross country skiing and running. My project was inspired by a story my grandfather shared with me one day. The best advice I can give to students is "You don't know until you try; you have the potential to change the world!" |
