My name is Om Agarwal, and I am a Grade-8 Student at Fleetwood Park Secondary. This is my 2nd Canada-Wide Science Fair, and I am really exited for it. As for the inspiration for my project, I received recommendations last year at Canada-Wide Science Fair, that I should make my database application (my last year's project) more practical, confidential, and better in general, with way more features than I had used then, that should have been implemented, for this to be actually used and accepted by the ministry of education. So keeping the recommendations, ideas, and viewpoints of others in mind, I have redesigned my database application, in a different platform with new technologies (HTML, CSS, PHP MYSQL, JAVASCRIPT, JQUERY, AJAX...) making this a web application to be used and accessed through any device. One advice I would like to give to you students out there, doing or thinking about doing projects, with a high potential and level of effort, is don't give up after something doesn't work right, or takes "too much" time to implement or figure out, because perseverance, and the effort you make to stand up after an obstacle is what makes a project, a real project |
