| Emily - I am a grade 11 honor roll student at Yale Secondary who enjoys science and music. People describe me as a hardworking, easy-going and optimistic person. I enjoy listening to music and playing the piano. As a part of the school's concert band, I also play the flute and I am a active member and secretary of Key Club, a worldwide student volunteer organizing committed to helping people around the world. During my spare time, I like to read , draw, play badminton , and hang out with my friends. During the past 3 years , I have participated in the regional science fair many times and recieve many valuable awards and experiences. I plan to study chemistry or genetics in the future and hope to work in the field of sciences such as a family physician or dentist. | | Alice - My name is Alice, and I am a cheerful, outgoing person. I love meeting new people, as well as spending time with my friends. I can speak English, Japanese, and Mandarin Chinese fluently because I was born in China, but immigrated to Japan when I was five years old, then came to Canada when I was eleven years old, and have lived here since. My hobbies include playing the piano and saxophone, listening to music, reading, as well as shopping. I work part-time as a waitress at a Japanese restaurant, as well as a minor test shopper (a very interesting job, I must say.) My favourite academic subjects in school are chemistry and math; I am also involved in the student government, key club, as well as concert band in school. Every week, I volunteer at the local Japanese school, where I help little kids, ranging from 5 ~ 10 year-olds, learn Japanese. My career plans are not definite, however I am currently preparing for SAT to apply for universities in the states. |

Electrifying Algae

This means that we are constantly being exposed to them. However the effects of these extremely low frequency field on living organisms is still unclear. In our experiement, we tested whether or not these fields produced by electrical wires have any effect on algae cells. |
