Biography
I am 16 years old and live on a mixed farm near Avonlea, Saskatchewan. I enjoy hunting, shooting and archery, and am a member of the Dirt Hills Wildlife Federation. I have a part-time job at Prairie Gun Traders. In school I participate in drama and volleyball. My science teacher gave me the inspiration for this project, which coupled with my interests, have helped me get this far. I am hoping to take this project further by testing it at the Synchrotron in Saskatoon. My advice to other students thinking about doing a project is to find something that interests them, and not to be afraid to think outside the box.

Catching Bullets
Challenge:Discovery
Category:Intermediate
Region:Southeast Saskatchewan
City:Avonlea, SK
School:Avonlea School
Abstract:My problem was to see how different calibres and speeds of bullets are affected when traveling through the substance, oobleck. I then compared oobleck that has a high viscosity, to water with low viscosity. What I found, was bullets that occupied a larger mass stopped in less of the distance than the smaller bullets to travel through the oobleck.
