Biography
My name is Hanna LeDrew, I am 13 years old, in Grade 8 and attend JW Walker School in Fort Frances. The inspiration for my project came from my enjoyment of outdoor activities popular to Northwestern Ontario. My hobbies and interests include, fishing, hunting, playing hockey and riding and showing my horse. I really enjoy science and learning about our environment. My advice to other students that are thinking about doing a project, is to do something that really interests you. Science fair should be about fun and learning! I really enjoyed doing my project and fishing is one of my favourite activities!

Catch of the Day
Challenge:Innovation
Category:Junior
Region:Sunset Country
City:Fort Frances, ON
School:J.W. Walker E.S.
Abstract:Catch of the Day is an innovation that promotes conservation of our fisheries. I designed and built a fishing rod with a scale attached that weighs the fish while it is still in the water. This can help with predicting whether the fish on the line is spawing and should be returned in order to keep a healthy fish population.
