| My name is Kennedy Frittenburg and I am in grade 8 at Bayview Community School in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. In my school I am involved in our "Me to We" group, this is a group that helps people in underdeveloped countries and spreads awareness about social issues. Some of my other intrests include basketball, volleyball and music. In the future I hope to be an architect or a pediatrician. The inspiration for my project came from research of barncles and the problems they cause. I also have a love for the ocean. I hope to create and market an environmentally sensitive antifouling coating product. |

The two low impact strategies focused on were surface colour and non-toxic chemical treatments. It was concluded that colour and chemistry are key to treating biofouling as supported by my data. |
