| Hi, my name is Hanneliese Laskowski. I am in grade seven, and a homeschool student in the beautiful town of Smithers, BC. Science has always been my favourite subject, and just this year I participated in my third regional science fair. I am so excited to go to nationals for the first time! I have a lot of different interests, but one that I absolutely love is music. I play the fiddle, and took piano for three years. I play fiddle in the Valley Youth Fiddlers and the Twisted String, and I play fiddle and piano in a kids worship group with some of my friends. Another of my passions is my horse. I love training her, riding her, and doing fun things with her. I also love to play sports, especially volleyball and track and field. One thing that is very important to me is spending time with my friends. Some of my best friends are home schooled, like me, and we spend a lot of time together. I am so excited to be a part of this years' Canada-Wide Science Fair, and I know it will be an amazing experience! |

Thinking about thinking: instinctive versus non-instinctive methods in archery

Similarly, in archery there are two methods of shooting; instinctive (unconscious) and non-instinctive (conscious). In this project I tested recreational archers to determine whether an instinctive or non-instinctive method of shooting produces higher scores. There was a non-significant trend toward higher scores with non-instinctive shooting. |
