Biography
My name is Daniel Jeyaraj and I attend Turnbull School in Ottawa, Ontario. I am 13 years old and I was born in the UK and moved to Canada after finishing grade 1. At school, my two favourite subjects are math and science. I prefer these subjects because they are vast, mysterious, and extremely interesting. I pursue these interests through reading, extracurricular activities, and imagination. Besides that, I enjoy music at both school and at home. I enjoy playing the clarinet in my school band and I take music lessons in both piano and theory. My favourite hobby is reading. I read various genres in literature, but I prefer dystopian, fantasy, sci-fi, and various non-fiction literature. My favourite novel is Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game. I have a black belt in Taekwondo and participate in my local church as an altar server. I love travelling with my parents and have been to many countries around the world. I am honoured and privileged to represent my school at the CWSF.

Region:Ottawa
City:Ottawa, ON
School:Turnbull School
Abstract:The purpose of my project is to find which condition will delay ripening and prevent ethylene production in bananas the longest. I chose this project because Canada wastes about $2.5 billion every year due to wasted produce. I was attempting to learn why and how ripening occurs and what can be done to delay it.
