Biography
I currently attend Summerside Intermediate School where I participate in leadership and the band program. I have received medals of excellency from Conservatory Canada for my high results in piano exams. I figure skate in the winter and play soccer during the summer. Last fall I got the opportunity to go to nationals with my team because we had been the provincial champions. I have been to five regional science fairs where I have won 17 specialty prizes throughout the years. This year on P.E.I, I had noticed a lot of red snow and was concerned about the health of the exposed soil in the agricultural fields. Which is what really inspired me to conducted my experiment. If I were to continue with this project I think it would be interesting to to conduct the experiment outdoors and all year long so it would be fully exposed to P.E.I's weather conditions. Probably the most useful advice for other people doing projects is to start early.

Abstract:I performed an experiment that simulated two fields, one plowed in the spring and the other in the fall. I then examined the crops grown in these fields, measured and compared their growth. By using correct practices, I learned how farmers can make changes to their practices which help create healthier ecosystems, therefore reducing the negative impact on forestry, agriculture and aquaculture.
