Eden - My name is Eden Fontaine, I'm 15 years old and I go to Clearwater River Dene School in Saskatchewan. I play sports such as basketball, soccer, and I also run. I plan on going to the University of Saskatchewan for post secondary education, to become either a nurse or a psychologist. This will also be my second time attending CWSF, my first time attending CWSF was in 2014 in Windsor, Ontario. I got my inspiration to do this project from my science project last year(Acid Snow), which was testing for pH in snow from different locations in Northern Saskatchewan. For further investigations, my partner & I would like to test water from more locations and to test for more contaminants. With what we found out so far, we hope to let our local people know about what exactly is in our lakes & river. My advice to students thinking about doing a project is to not give up and try their hardest. Also to do a lot of research on their project and to put lots of effort into it!
Sinay - My name is Sinay Kennedy, I am 15 years old and I go to Clearwater River Dene School. My hobbies include: writing, reading, drawing, making videos, and learning new instruments. After I graduate from high school, I plan on going to Nortep in La Ronge, Saskatchewan for my post-secondary education. I wanted to do a project on the environment, and know how to help if there was any way I could. Some of the world's water is contaminated, and I wanted to know if the water sources in my community was safe to drink or not. If my partner and I had to do further investigations, it would be getting more water samples from more lakes and rivers, inside and outside of our community. My advice to other students would be to get determined and work hard on their project.

Abstract:Our project tested water samples for different contaminants such as Coliform Bacteria, Dissolved Oxygen, Biochemical Oxygen Demand, pH, Phosphate, Nitrate, and Turbidity. We chose this project to find out what was in our water. We found some contaminants in a few of the samples. With what we’ve observed from our project, we want to show people that the water they’re drinking is not safe.
