Biography
I am Jonathan Dares from Sable River, Nova Scotia. I attended Lockeport Regional High School and am in grade 11. I enjoy soocer, canoeing, and badminton. This will be my third year at the Canada wide science fair. I got the inspiration for my project this year from lots of research, thinking and a long car drive. I have plans for more testing with the vortex tube. My advice for any other students thinking about doing a project would be to definitely to one. It is an amazing experience and is a once in a lifetime opportunity. D

A New Spin on an Old Idea
Challenge:Environment
Category:Senior
Region:Tri-County
City:Sable River, NS
School:Lockeport Regional High School
Abstract:My project is to make, and use a vortex tube to give instant heat and cold in a vehicle to burn less fuel For the vortex tube to work from the air pressure created by the moving vehicle. The vortex tube uses compressed air to separate hot and cold molecules so cold goes out one end of a tube and hot out the other.
