Biographie
I am a grade 7 student at the Collège catholique Franco-Ouest in Ottawa, Ontario. My favorite class is math because I like when there is a definitive answer to a problem. Outside the classroom, I love to play ringette, swim and hang out with my friends. When looking for a project idea, I found my inspiration through a UNICEF commercial. I watch those kids walk for miles and miles and just thought how unfair it is that they have to walk all that distance for such a little amount of water. A little while later, I went to the washroom and watch all that water being used for one flush and that's when I decided to create my product. If I were to continue my research, I would like to find a substitute for the water that we use to flush the toilet with. And if I were to find give advice to anyone thinking of doing a project, I would tell them to do something that they have an interest and a passion for.

Sommaire:This project was designed to reduce water waste when hand washing at the bathroom sink, after using the toilet. I redirected water from the fill valve inside the toilet tank into a bowl. For 34 seconds, 200 ml of water is available for hand washing, saving between 4150 and 8300 ml that would have been used at the sink faucet. My hypothesis proved possible.
