My name is Jordan Kurtzweg & I'm a Grade 9 student at Foremost School. I'm the President of our Junior High Student's Union. I enjoy Science (especially Physics), Language Arts, and Math. I'm very active in my local 4H club, where I raise & show steers. I have won 1st place at 4H speak-offs for the past 3 years at both the club & district levels. I take piano & violin lessons. In my local church, I am on the IT team & a student leader in the youth group. My favorite hobbies are reading & doing research. I enjoy skiing, swimming, & living on a farm with my 3 younger brothers. I have attended the regional science fair for 3 years. This year I won the Intermediate Silver award & the HatSmart Energy Award. I look forward to attending the CWSF for the first time!

Turbines — It’s a Wind Win
Défi:Énergie
Catégorie:Intermédiaire
Région:Southeast Alberta
Ville:Foremost, AB
École:Foremost School
Sommaire:Wind is a vital free resource we need to take advantage of. I tested a wind turbine model to see what blade angle produces the most electricity. The benefit is once the best angle for a windspeed is known it can be applied on any scale. This can help people in remote or underdeveloped countries maximize their turbine electrical output in a financially sustainable way.
