| My name is Ruicen He, but I usually go by David at school. I'm from Edmonton, Alberta; and attending Old Scona Academic Senior High as a grade 12 student. Something that I have held close to my heart is music. In junior high, I picked up playing the trumpet and now I play in a city-wide youth jazz band programs called Little Birds. Some of the first books I read when I was a child were science encyclopedias for kids. These experiences introduced and sparked my love for science. Flash forward to now, and the opportunity to not only work in a research lab, but to also study something I have been interested in since elementary has definitely been the highlight of my experience during high school. |

Aging in Human Cells is Linked to BubR1 Expression

I am investigating if there is a correlation between low BubR1 expression and the aging phenotype in humans using normal human cell lines and progeria cell lines. Analyzing protein harvested from the cells through time, I was able to find this correlation with BubR1 in humans. |
