Biography
Currently I am in Secondary 3 attending Kahnawake Survival school in Kahnawake, Mohawk Territory, Quebec. I am a speaker of Kanien'keha and take pride in my cultural heritage. I like to play hockey as well as other sports in order to challenge my body and mind. Science along with Physical Education are my favorite subjects in school. I am planning on going to college and university as I would like to pursue a career in Engineering where I can take on challenges and help to problem solve. My inspiration for this project came from my desire to move from room to room in my house when doing tasks such as carrying large objects which require the use of both hands. Eventually I would like to patent my invention and continue improving it. For students that want to get involved my advice would be to start the project early, set and respect deadlines and have someone to work with because two minds are always better than one. Finally not be shy to ask questions or for assistance.

Category:Intermediate
Region:Aboriginal Québec Autochtone
City:Kahnawake, QC
School:Kahnawake Survival School
Abstract:Necessity is the mother of invention, this simply means that innovation is inspired by need. This innovation involved constructing a door pedal for use in various locations. It allows a person to enter a room using their foot. Following several attempts it is the 3rd prototype that proved to be successful. My intention is to patent my design and promote the idea to future investors.
