| My name is Rosemund Ragetli, I am seventeen years old and live in Winnipeg Manitoba. Currently in Grade 11 at Westwood Collegiate, I am enrolled in accelerated IB courses. Involved in 4-H for the past nine years, I have competed and won at the provincial and national level public speaking events. I have played the violin for nine years, and am a member of the Winnipeg Youth Symphony Orchestra. This past October I was one of four delegates from Canada to attend and present a research paper at the World Food Prize in Des Moines, Iowa. At this event, I presented a research paper regarding food security in Kenya. Subsequently, I was encouraged by my chemistry teacher to further develop this concept as a Science Fair project. In the future, I look forward to continuing research regarding global food security, developing unique perspectives and reasonable proposals. I would encourage students who are interested in the sciences, to engage their focus within a Science Fair setting. This is an opportunity to develop an area of study in a cohesive, comprehensive and structured manner, developing both research and presentation skills. |
