Biography
For the last two years I have been beekeeping and I am fascinated with honey bees. Next year I hope to extend my bee memory project with using more complex tasks for the bees. Doing a science project requires many skills and it takes time and effort. But in the end, it is all worth it and you are pushed further in your learning in so many ways. As well as beekeeping I enjoy hockey, piano and guitar. I live in a small community and attend a small K - 12 school. I am in grade 7 and my favourite subject is Math.

School:Bruce Peninsula District S.S. & E.S.
Abstract:Honey bee memory was tested using three different apparatus prototypes, that were constructed for this project, to determine if the bees could remember a pattern associated with a reward. The results demonstrated that honey bees could recall a single pattern and a three-part pattern up to 100% of the time. This project has the potential to give insight into diseases such as Alzheimer’s.
