| Salvatore Mottillo Traps to Modulate Infection
Division: | Biotechnology | Category: | Senior | Region: | CDLS - Province du Québec | City: | St-Léonard, QC | School: | Marianopolis College | Abstract: | Murine Leukemia Virus (MuLV) infection is modulated using MCAT-1 receptor-masked liposomes encapsulating viral inhibitors. The MuLV cellular host, mouse cell line NIH-3T3, is mimicked to create an innovative virus trap via the expression of MCAT-1 cellular receptors on the surface of liposomes. The MuLV inhibitor, rifamycin SV, is encapsulated within the liposomes to ensure viral inactivation once MuLV has penetrated the traps. |
