Traps to Modulate Infection
Division:Biotechnology
Category:Senior
Region:CDLS - Province du Québec
City:St-Léonard, QC
School:Marianopolis College
Abstract:Murine Leukemia Virus (MuLV) infection is modulated using MCAT-1 receptor-masked liposomes encapsulating viral inhibitors. The MuLV cellular host, mouse cell line NIH-3T3, is mimicked to create an innovative virus trap via the expression of MCAT-1 cellular receptors on the surface of liposomes. The MuLV inhibitor, rifamycin SV, is encapsulated within the liposomes to ensure viral inactivation once MuLV has penetrated the traps.
