| I am Alysha Lippert and I am 18 years of age. I enjoy reading, but more so drawing, for which I have won first place awards at the local, provincial and regional levels of the Lions Club Peace Poster contest back in 2012. I am also currently concluding my last year of high school at Inuksuk High School in Iqaluit, Nunavut. Though, this is actually my first year in the territory for I had moved here from Gander, Newfoundland just this past summer, which I must say has been quite the change, the largest and most notable difference being the weather. I found it freezing and bitter this past winter, though to my surprise, the locals kept commenting about how "warm" or "mild" it has been, and that got me curious, thus sparking the inspiration for my project. For further investigations, I would aim to record and analyze the meteorological history of other northern communities to perhaps determine a trend among gas emission effects on northern areas versus southern ones. And as for advice, I'd suggest choosing a topic that intrigues and fascinates you, or even just interests you a little, for enthusiasm for ones work makes all the difference. |
