Biography
I am a 12 year old girl, and I live in a rural community in the Ottawa Valley. I play competitive ringette in the Ligue Ringuette du Québec and also enjoy other sports at school. I participate in public speaking competitions at school and around the community. My favourite subject is science because it is fascinating and science will be the solution to climate change. I believe climate change is the biggest problem facing earth today, and I wanted to find a way to help. I would like to continue to explore different ways of eco-friendly electricity generation including modifying the design of the Stirling engine, to generate electricity more efficiently. My advice to another student about doing a project would be to do something they are interested in, it makes the journey a lot more fun and enjoyable.

Abstract:The project assesses feasibility of a solar engine powered by a solar concentrator to generate electricity. The manner we generate electricity today is utilizing solar panels, however they deplete a lot of resources. If Stirling engines are a feasible power source it would solve that issue. Climate change is the biggest problem facing the earth and another alternative to fossil fuel electricity generation is important.
