| My name is Mercedes Ward, I am 13 years old and in grade 8 at Matheson Island School. Matheson Island is located in the middle of Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba. Matheson Island is a small trapping and fishing community of approx. 80 people. In my spare time I enjoy playing hockey, reading and playing the fiddle. My inspiration for my project came from watching the trappers head out to their lines in stormy weather. I wanted to try and make it easier for the trappers, with the result of my project. In the future I hope to continue with my project and advance to bigger and better things. One day I wish that my innovative invention will be used worldwide. As advice to others, the best way to choose a project is to choose something that you're interested in.That way learning about it will be productive yet fun. |
