My name is Wren Acorn. I am 13 years old and was born on April 25, 2003. Though this is my first out of town competition for school, I've competed in many athletic meets/tournaments for provincial/territorial, national, and even international levels in speed skating, soccer and futsal. I am participating in the Canada-Wide Science Fair with my project "Comment est-que les bruants a couronnes blanches de Gambel migrent?". In this project I made maps using Google Earth Pro of the migratory patterns of Gambel's white crowned sparrows who were relocated off of their normal migratory routes. In this project I explore whether these birds have internal maps and/or compasses and compare juvenile birds to adults. My mom found this project idea off of the internet and because I am very interested in biology, I decided to do it. Being able to participate in the Canada-Wide Science Fair of 2016 is an incredible honor and I'm really excited. |
