I'm twelve years old and live in Creston BC. I like to play soccer, basketball, and ski. This is my first year at CWSF, and I am excited to experience CWSF and Fredericton. I wanted to do a project that would help people and the world. My project is on how cricket farming can help feed our planet efficiently, without worsening global warming. I'm really excited to show how anyone can farm crickets easily. I hope to convince people that cricket protein is as healthy, if not healthier, than typical livestock protein, and show how much better they are for our planet than typical protein. Crickets really are a bite-sized solution to overpopulation and global warming. |

Défi: | Ressources | Catégorie: | Junior | Région: | West Kootenay & Boundary | Ville: | Creston, BC | École: | Adam Robertson Elementary | Sommaire: | Insects are a healthy, environmentally friendly food. They can be made with 100 times less greenhouse gas emissions. They have as much protein and more iron than beef. I wanted to see if a cricket farm could be created and maintained for two months for under $30. Crickets really are the food of the future - a bite-sized solution to global warming and overpopulation. |
