Biography
My name is Cameron Armstrong and I am a 12 year old student in grade 7. I attend Algonquin Ridge Elementary School in Barrie, Ontario. I first participated in the Simcoe County Science Fair when I was in grade five where I received an honourable mention. I have always had an interest in science and our environment, which led to the topic of my project this year on global warming. I enjoy taking on leadership roles at my school and am the Vice President of the student council. I love music and I enjoy playing the drums. I also love playing sports and my favourites are hockey and volleyball. Living in Barrie, Ontario, we have lots of snow, so snowboarding is my favourite activity in the winter. In the summer, it is biking and rollerblading and hanging out with my friends in my spare time. I enjoy school, and my favourite subjects are art, drama, and math. I love to travel and I am interested in seeing different parts of the world but especially my own country.

The Effect of Carbon Dioxide on Global Warming
Division:Engineering & Computing Sciences / None
Category:Junior
Region:Simcoe County
City:Barrie , ON
School:Algonquin Ridge E.S.
Abstract:This project studied the effects of carbon dioxide and the impact of plant life on global warming. Global warming was measured through temperature change and the melting of an ice block in two air tight chambers simulating the earth’s environment. Increased carbon dioxide levels were found to contribute to the global warming effect. Small amounts of plant life showed no significant effects.
