Biography
Hi, my name is Emma. I am a grade 9 student at École Secondaire du Sommet in Halifax, NS. I take lessons in voice and participate in musical theatre. In my spare time I enjoy reading, running, and playing badminton. In the summers I've been fortunate to travel and learn about different countries. Over the past 3 years, I've taken part in the Let's Talk Science Challenge in NS, where my team won silver and gold medals. I am excited to participate in this year's CWSF. My project was inspired by my interest in biology and ways to limit the bacteria that gets on our food. My findings were quite practical in terms of reducing bacteria on food. I would like to investigate this across other foods and communicate these results so people could benefit from my research. For students planning a science project I would recommend choosing an area of interest, reviewing previous studies and thinking what your study could contribute, and following the scientific method.

La règle des 5 secondes
Challenge:Health
Category:Intermediate
Region:Conseil scolaire acadien provincial
City:Halifax, NS
