Biographie
My name is Madison McIntyre. I'm thirteen years old and in grade eight. I live in a small town in northern Manitoba called Flin Flon. I love sports and play soccer, volleyball, basketball and badminton. I also enjoy the outdoors including quadding, sea-doing, fishing and swimming. I decided to do my science fair project this year on HIV/AIDS after having a presentation in my classroom from the local public health nurses on STI’s and HIV/AIDS. This presentation got me thinking about how much people in Flin Flon know about HIV/AIDS and how to keep themselves safe. In the future I may consider re-surveying another group of individuals in the same age categories to see if I duplicate the same results. My advice to other students is to survey a large sample size and take the time to carefully review your data.

Sommaire:The main focus of my project is HIV/AIDS knowledge, attitude and behavior. The methodology used was a knowledge, attitude and behavior survey. The target population was youth 12-18 years and adults 19 years and older. In the knowledge section of the survey, adult females scored the highest. In the attitude and behavior sections, both age groups had very similar responses.
