Alycia - My name is Alycia Hamilton. I am 14 and in grade 8 at Central Senior School in Lindsay, Ontario. I am a member of the soccer and volleyball teams at my school, as well as a local soccer team. I also take dance classes (jazz, hip-hop, tap, ballet) five nights a week. During the summer I enjoy reading books, swimming, wakeboarding, water skiing and golf. In the winter I like to go snowboarding, skiing, and tobogganing. When I graduated from Parkview Public School in grade 6, I was awarded the Principals Award for student leadership. I also received academic awards throughout public school. In Grade 7, after moving to central, I received the academic award as well as the athletic and arts awards. I live in Lindsay Ontario, and have a cottage in Haliburton, Ontario. I have a 16 year-old sister, Angela and an 11 year-old dog, Carly. Along with 2 great parents, we have a very happy family. After graduating high school, I would like to study sciences further and hopefully pursue a career in physiology or kinesiology.
Cayley Elizabeth - My name is Cayley Scates. I am in Grade 8 at Central Senior Public School in Lindsay, Ontario. During my time at Central Senior I have had numerous leadership opportunities. During my grade seven year, I was chosen to attend the Northern Lights Leadership Program. The leadership experience I am most proud of is the involvement I had in our school’s “Free the Children” campaign. Currently, I am a web leader for my school. A web leader is a grade eight student who serves as a mentor and student leader for a class of grade seven students. I have been involved in many extra-curricular activities. I have been part of the Senior Girls’ Soccer Team, the Cross-Country Team and all intramural sports. I am also a member of the school band and the school choir. Outside of school, I am very busy with dance and music. I am currently working on my Grade 5 Royal Conservatory of Music voice qualifications and I currently take ballet, pointe, jazz, and highland lessons. I am a competitive highland dancer. My greatest accomplishment in highland dancing was winning my age category last July in Calgary at the Canadian Highland Dancing Championships.
