Biography
Hello, I’m Correne Minty. I’m in grade twelve from Olds High School in Alberta. I enjoy reading, writing, ski coaching, flying, and playing the piano. I love to travel and I’ve been to many interesting places across the world, my favourite being Austria. I’ve always been around gas sensing technology, but a good part of my interest in the field came from a sensing technology fair in Nürnburg, Germany, which I visited in 2016. I'm currently working towards my private pilot's license and I really enjoy learning about aircraft and the like. This is my second year at CWSF and I'm super excited to visit Ottawa this year!

Optimization of an Electrochemical CO Gas Sensor
Challenge:Innovation
Category:Senior
Region:Central Alberta Rotary
City:Didsbury, AB
School:Olds Junior Senior High School
Abstract:This project was to improve an electrochemical gas sensor design by changing the thickness of the electrodes inside it and testing the sensitivity. These particular sensors are known for being both low-powered and effective for low levels of gas, which is necessary for applications like environmental monitoring, studies, and general safety, especially when dealing with carbon monoxide, as was the case in this project.
