Division:Engineering & Computing Sciences
Category:Intermediate
Region:North Bay
City:North Bay, ON, Powassan, ON
School:Widdifield Secondary
Abstract:The purpose of this experiment was to determine if low concentrations of either nickel nitrate or copper nitrate, would affect chemosensory receptors in leeches. The results demonstrated that concentrations as low as 5ppb of these metals did affect chemosensory ability. These results provide insight towards the delicate balance of ecosystems.
