Division:Life Sciences
Category:Junior
Region:Greater Vancouver
City:Lions Bay, BC
School:York House School
Abstract:This project tested the sound levels of personal stereos and earphones with and without background noise in “lab” and “real” situations. Sound levels were measured using a model head and a decibel meter. Results showed that the style of earphone worn affects whether people adjust volumes on their personal stereos to dangerous sound levels in order to overcome background noise.
