My name is Ally Churko, and this is my second year attending the Canada Wide Science fair. This year I performed an epigenetic experiment whereas last year I performed an epigenetic study. My experiment was on red worms. Upon completion of my experiment I would have had close to 700 worms total. My experiments took place over a course of approximately 3 months. I come from a small town in Saskatchewan. I love to read books, I enjoy dancing, and I partake in theater groups and a choir in my community. After high school I plan to attend a post secondary school, however I have not decided in what subject. |
| Ally Churko Can Transgenerational Epigenetics be Shown in Eisenia fetida?
Challenge: | Discovery | Category: | Senior | Region: | Prairie Valley | City: | Milestone, SK | School: | Milestone School | Abstract: | I performed an experiment on Redworms. I exposed multiple generations to varying light intensities to see if I could find evidence of Transgenerational Epigenetic Inheritance. This is important because understanding how Transgenerational Epigenetic Inheritance occurs may help us understand how and why species' evolve. |
