| My name is Hattie Pameolik and I was raised in the remote Inuit community of Arviat Nunavut which has 2,500 people. Syphilis and other STI's are problematic for Inuit youth, particularly in Arviat. Many youth have little or no education about the dangers of contracting syphilis and other types of STI's. I believe it is important to teach youth about safe sex, and the dangers behind it. |
