Abstract:In this experiment arare earth magnet and an electromagnet were subjected to three different temperatures:-196C,0C,100C and the resulting flux density was deterimined. The permanent magnet was also tested at 310C. It was found that the coldest permanent magnet and the coldest electromagnet displayed the strongest magnetism. At 310C the permanent magnet exhibited no magnetism.
