Abstract:The wood frog’s self defense against freezing was studied and this was applied to plants. Lettuce was grown with concentrations of dextrose and propylene glycol. The plants were subjected to cold temperatures for varying amounts of time. Plants grown with dextrose were able to withstand the cold the longest.
