Biography
hello, my full name is Wade William John Beardy and i was born Thompson, MB Canada. And as for where i got my inspiration, was in my home town's lake water "Split Lake, MB." At this state the water is so polluted that we can't swim in it. Our community is always building water treatment plants, but I think that we should focus more on the lake itself. That's why I think that the cattails and their ability to absorb nutrients is so important.

Potential Nutrient Capture from Harvesting Cattails (Typha latifolia)

Abstract:Instead of trying to treat our water quality exclusively with water treatment plants, my project, the Potential Nutrient Capture from Harvesting Cattails (Typha latifolia), proposes that we address the lake itself by using cattails and their natural ability to absorb nitrates which cause algae blooms.
