My name is Sameer Batla, I am thirteen years old and in eighth grade at Lincoln Middle School in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I play guitar and sing in school choir and divisional choir. I also love acting, I have been a lead role in several plays and musicals. One of the biggest awards I won at school was the "Responsible Leadership Award" which is the most honourable award that a seventh grade student can receive and it is basically for the top student of the year. I love swimming and playing basketball. My favourite subjects are science and math. When I'm older I'd like to become a doctor or work for NASA. I have been participating in the Science Fairs ever since I was in the second grade. For the past three years, my science fair projects were on renewable energies. However, this year I wanted to learn about Diabetes Mellitus as it is a topic close to heart. I recommend everyone to participate in science fairs and to remember that it does not matter what your ranking is, the thing that matters most is that you learned something new. |
