| Ravindi Gunasekara Functional characterization of angiotensin I converting enzyme inhibitory peptides produced by enzym
Division: | Biotechnology | Category: | Intermediate | Region: | Manitoba Schools Science Symposium | City: | Winnipeg, MB | School: | Fort Richmond Collegiate | Abstract: | The intention of this project was to further research prevention and treatment for hypertension with the use of ACE- inhibitory peptides derived from pea protein. The objective of this project was to produce pea protein hydrolysates and determine their efficiency as ACE inhibitors. Results will contribute to the knowledge of bioactive peptides, especially those that can be used to formulate antihypertensive functional foods and nutraceuticals. |
