Biography
I am Mark Schawill, I am a grade 10 student at Hudson College in Toronto, Ontario. Some subjects that I enjoy at school are Math, Science, and Drama. I have also taken the Waterloo math test for 5 years and received outstanding certificates. Some of my hobbies include badminton, sailing, cooking, and video games. I started competing in Science Fairs at school since grade 3 and attended the regional Science Fair in 2016 when I was in grade 7. I have participated three times so far winning a bronze medal, then a gold medal, and finally a gold medal along with the opportunity to go to the CWSF. This year I got my idea from previous experiments with plants and the environment, more specifically with climate change. My further investigations on this experiment are to spread awareness about climate change and how it affects plant growth. I also would like to improve my electronic device that monitors plant growth to make it affordable for everyone to use. My advice to others that are struggling with a science project is that they should choose a topic that they feel passionate about so they can enjoy.

My Plants
Challenge:Environment
Category:Intermediate
Region:Toronto
City:Toronto, ON
School:Hudson College
Abstract:My science experiment is to create four different environments to grow plants based on the estimated temperatures within the next three decades. I will record the results of the temperatures in each of the environments to prove whether climate change is something we should be afraid of.
