| My name is Rohan Sethi. I am a Grade 8 student at St. Maurice School in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I enjoy playing soccer and badminton. In my spare time I do volunteer work in the community. Science is my favorite subject. I have been participating in science fairs at both school and regional levels since I was in Grade 4 and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Growing resistance to antibiotics is becoming a serious worldwide concern. Hence, I was inspired to study on plant-based bio-compounds as a possible sustainable solution to help resolve this crisis. I would like to expand on this topic by further studying on ways to improve the bioavailability of medicinal plants. I aspire to be a physician one day so I can help my community stay healthy. I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity to represent my province at the CWSF. Curiosity and the desire to find an answer can help resolve many of our current day problems. I strongly encourage students to take part in science fairs and discover a new and exciting world. |

To Study Synergy Effect of Medicinal Plants on Antimicrobial Activity of Garlic

Ten trials were done and observed over a period of six days. The results suggested that Garlic in its pure form was more effective in killing the microbes compared to when it was mixed with coconut, turmeric or ginger. |
