Biographie
I am Marcus Chan and I studied in grade 8 gifted program at Silver Stream Public School in Richmond Hill, Ontario. I was born in Hong Kong and my family and I moved to Canada before I turned 3. This is my first time entering Canada-wide science fair. I am an active person and I especially love to go outdoors. I like skiing (since 3 years old), sledding, biking, hiking, long-distance running, camping, rock climbing, canyoneering, and badminton. The science fair project I am doing this year was in fact inspired by the problem that I have while my family is in skiing trips - to find a solution to dry my winter gear quickly when they get wet from the snow. I also enjoy playing the trumpet and I actively participate in school concert bands. I like talking and acting and drama is one of my favorites. My recent interest is custom-building powerful desktop computers at home. To do that, I need to spend a lot of time researching online to find and study the different computer parts. I especially like to follow technology trends. My future goal is to become an innovator, an entrepreneur, or an actor.

Sommaire:The purpose of this experiment was to find a solution, i.e., to invent a portable device, that could dry my winter gear quickly when they get wet from the snow after winter activities such as skiing, sledding, etc. A prototype was built using a set of plastic tubes powered by a hairdryer. The results showed that it could dry multiple items very effectively.
