Biography
My name is Michael Redford. I am 13 years old and in grade 8 at Fort Frances High School. I live in Northwestern Ontario in a very small town. I enjoy playing and refereeing outdoor and indoor soccer. My favourite subject is Math because I enjoy solving problems however I also like music and computers. Although I have a fear of heights, I really enjoy roller coasters and rock climbing. I chose to do this project because oral hygiene is very important to me and I wanted to know which toothpaste would clean and protect my teeth the most effectively. I hope to go to university after high school to pursue a career in IT.

Abstract:This project used eggs submerged in a staining liquid to determine toothpaste performance in two categories; prevention and whitening. Eight different toothpastes were tested including a homemade version. Tests were conducted by placing toothpaste onto the egg prior to submersion for protection and by scrubbing with toothpaste on a previously stained egg for whitening. Tests were conducted across four different staining agents.
